Boulder Fall Acting Classes

Thank you for your interest in our after school classes. For Denver classes, please visit our Denver Class Page. Classes typically fill by late August or early September so please register early. Classes run 10 weeks. See class for exact dates. (No classes during the week of Thanksgiving.) Classes marked with * will have a final presentation on the last class.

MONDAYS
4-6: Musical Theatre & Character Acting Showcase* (ages 10-13) Sept 27 – December 6
Explore the fundamentals of acting in this fast paced class! Scene work and script analysis are the basis of theatre training. Being a triple threat and understanding the foundation of musical theatre is important and will be explored. Challenge yourself to create multi dimensional characters through scene analysis, improvisation and physical acting. $195

TUESDAYS
4-5:30: Annie to High School Musical! A Musical Showcase of Songs & Dances* (ages 6-9) Sept 28 – December 7
We will select and perform several musical numbers from these favorite shows. Emphasis will be on working character along with movement and song. All classes will begin with drama games and warm ups to give students the building blocks they need to get a better understanding of drama. $175

4-5:30: Improv Mania! Beginner Level*
(ages 9-12) Sept 28 – December 7
Improvisation is a valuable tool which teaches stage presence, self confidence, team work, and strong acting skills. The sky’s the limit in this class! We will learn spontaneity, imagination, humor and creative group collaboration. $175

WEDNESDAYS
4-6: AVATAR: A Theatrical Journey To A New World* (ages 9-12)
Sept 29 – December 8
Using the film Avatar as our inspiration, students will create the landscape and characters of Avatar through dynamic acting activities. Students will use their voices, bodies, and imaginations to create characters and scenes, pursue objectives, overcome obstacles, and work as an ensemble. $195

4-5:30: Kids on Camera! Auditioning for TV, Film, or Commercials (ages 8-13)
Sept 29 – December 8
Want to get cast in film or television? Interested in getting an agent? Learn the skills necessary to secure a good audition and impress a casting director! This class will focus on commercials, cold reads, monologues, slating, and building strong characters from TV and film scripts. Bring a blank DVD, notebook, pencil and of course your best smile! $175

THURSDAYS
4-6: Improv Comedy: Theatre Sports for the Actor* (ages 11 & up)
September 30 – December 9 (Intermediate level. Prior improvisation class required.)
This class is for the actor looking to participate in challenging Improvisational Theatre. Students will heighten their listening, physical presence, and ability to be a part of an ensemble, to tell a story from an honest place. Through solo, duo and group exercises, students will perfect their comic timing to trust their creative impulses as well as those of the group. $195

4-5:30: Animal Magic: The Hungry Caterpillar* (ages 5-8) September 30 – December 9
Come join us to build a world of imagination and become one of the delightful animals in Eric Carl’s “The Hungry Caterpillar”. Using drama games, improvisation, creative movement, and basic character exploration, we will create a colorful dramatic work for family and friends. $175

Cancellation Policy:
Fees are non-refundable. Fees beyond deposit may be used as credit at after a good faith effort has been made to address withdrawal issue. Exceptions may be made in the case of family or medical emergency.
