Our afterschool classes focus on teaching basic acting, vocal, and dance techniques. These classes are geared towards beginner to intermediate skilled performers alike. We create work along with our students in a creative process style to nurture imaginative play.
Our Winter afterschool offerings include In Person classes and Virtual classes in both Boulder and Denver.

IN PERSON CLASSES

1) Acting for Real Performance Intensive
(5 weeks). Ages 10+
2/7 – 3/14 (no class 2/14)
Develop a toolbox of acting techniques as you refine important scene study skills, engage in improvisational games and polish and prepare audition material for whatever opportunities come next! Together we will choose material for you that demonstrate good range and highlights your individual strengths as a performer. Class time will be spent honing and polishing your material as you discover workable acting techniques that will enable you to embrace acting in the most natural way! Cold reads, slating, and how to write a great resume will also be a part of this class.
*Techniques on how to audition successfully over video will also be included!

2) Performance Technique Class: Beauty and the Beast
Ages 9-16
This performance based acting class is for the student eager to perform and learn new acting skills and techniques as they rehearse this classic, whimsical and creative play! Character Acting, Movement and the fundamentals of Script Analysis will be a part of the creative process.

1) Fairy Tale Fantasy: Improv and Creative Play-making
Mondays 1/18 – 3/15 (No class 2/15). 4:00-5:00pm
Ages 6-10
We will make our own play! We will go on an imaginative journey each week using movement, pantomime, sound, and improvisation. We will act out different stories, playing diverse characters, and exploring all the fun and exciting elements of some of our favorite fairy tales.

2) Acting the Voiceover
Fridays 1/22 – 3/12. 4:30-6:00pm
Ages 10 -14
In this course students will practice with both creative and commercial voiceover copy as they learn the basic tools of the trade. They will explore how to use their voice effectively to convey mood, tone and story as they experiment with a myriad of characters and texts.

Zoom Acting Private Lessons with Founding Artistic Director Michelle Romeo
Michelle prepares many students each year for DSA AUDITIONS, COLLEGE AUDITIONS AND GENERAL AUDITIONS.
In her private acting sessions she covers:
- Introduction of different Acting Methods and Techniques (Stanislavsky, Michael Chekhov, Meisner, Uta Hagen)
- Script Analysis
- Proper and healthy Vocalization, projection, and diction.
- Stage Movement for acting
- Identifying and working through mental and emotional blocks and problem areas
- Monologue coaching and prep
- Support in picking suitable monologues and music for auditions
- Resume building and consults
Michelle will design a curriculum based on each students’ needs. 30 min or 60 min sessions are available scheduled at your convenience, afternoons evenings and weekends.
