Curtains up for this class based on the famous book and film about the adventures of modern-day twelve-year-old Percy Jackson as he discovers he is a demigod, the son of a mortal woman and the Greek god Poseidon. Students will create the landscape and characters of The Lightning Thief through the dynamic use of acting exercises and activities designed to facilitate the creative process. Students will use their voices, bodies and imaginations to create characters and scenes, pursue objectives, overcome obstacles, and learn to work as an ensemble. Characters include those drawn from Ancient Greek mythology, as Percy and his friends go on a quest to prevent a war between the Zeus, Poseidon and Hades.
