2010/2011 Youth Actors Conservatory Positions
(Boulder & Denver)
The 2010-11 Youth Actors Conservatory Season runs Sept-April.

Salaries: $400 - $6,000/year
depending on program and applicant experience.
1. Directors (Boulder &
Denver)
This position involves a tremendous amount
of responsibility and is for someone who has previously directed
children's theatre productions. Managing staff, maintaining
positive parent contact, creating and maintaining efficient
rehearsal schedules, group management, strong organizational
skills, as well as the commitment to manifest a creative vision
is important. Creative process training as well as personal
performing arts experience is helpful.
2. Musical Directors/Accompanists
(Boulder & Denver)
Seeking experienced vocal artists with a background in musical
theater to arrange and teach vocal parts, provide proper voice
technique, and assist students ages 5-8 or ages 8-16 in creating
dynamic and interesting musical pieces. This position involves
working closely with the director to assist in implementing
the creative vision for each show. A passion for theater and
for kids is essential as well as the enthusiasm to be in a
co-creative role with the director. The ability to work well
with other members of the artistic staff is crucial, as you
will be working intimately with the choreographer and director.
Must be comfortable working with large numbers of kids and
must have group teaching experience! Piano skills are required!
This is a position for anyone interested in getting creative
with the students and giving them, beyond anything else, a
love for the sound of their voice!
3. Choreographer/Dance Teacher
(Boulder & Denver)
We are seeking trained and skilled dancers with children's
teaching experience to co-create and implement simple yet
artful choreography and teach it to the beginner through advanced
students. This position would also assist the director in
implementing the creative vision for each show. A passion
for theater and for kids is essential as well as the enthusiasm
to be in a co-creative role with the director. Blocking and
choreography will be shared with the director. Experience
in any of the following diverse dance genres such as: modern,
jazz, ballet, hip-hop, African, folk or Latin would be helpful.
The ability to do some basic fight choreography is also extremely
helpful! Applicant should be comfortable planning a curriculum
and teaching dance classes. Skills in basic improvisation
and character building are helpful. Strong communication skills
to ensure positive parent contact are essential as well as
the ability to work cooperatively as a team with the other
artistic staff.
4. Set Designers/Builders (Boulder
& Denver)
Seeking creative individuals to design and build colorful
and versatile sets for our year round shows. Knowing how to
work within budget is crucial! This position would involve
working with students and parents during Community Build Days
as well as planning all aspects of the set build in order
to meet strict timelines. Previous set design experience is
required.
5. Lighting Designers and Board
Operators (Boulder & Denver)
Seeking technically savvy individuals who have experience
creating and implementing light design and running a computerized
light board for multiple shows. Ideal candidates will commit
to work our entire 2010-11 Season.
6. Sound Designers and Board
Operators (Boulder & Denver)
Seeking technically savvy individuals who have experience
creating and implementing sound design and running sound for
multiple shows. Ideal candidates will commit to work our entire
2010-11 Season.
7. Costumers (Boulder &
Denver)
Seeking experienced and highly creative costumers who can
handle large scope costume jobs (sometimes up to 80 costumes
or more per show) on their own. This position requires significant
design and build experience for a highly organized person.

. After School Class Acting Teachers (Boulder & Denver)
Experienced children's theatre teachers (music directors,
choreographers, improv, etc.) needed for after school
classes.
PAY: $20-$30/hour DOE

INTERNSHIPS
RMTK stipend internships
are a great learning experience for high school and college age
students and a door to future employment possibilities with our
company. Furthermore, we will gladly support successful interns
with a one time stipend, letters of reference and other career building
measures. We do also have supplemental paid work opportunities for
interns in our extended care program, which is a childcare pro
Production/Teaching Interns (Boulder
& Denver - Part Time)
Some flexible scheduling is possible. High school or college
credit may be obtained depending on your program) Seeking
enthusiastic theatre students ((high school, college or grad)
whose training is in prop making, acting, directing,
makeup, COSTUMES or sets to assist and support our
head teachers during rehearsals and class. Acting and directing
positions will include facilitating warm-ups and improv exercises,
assisting the choreographer, musical director and artistic
director, facilitating scene study, managing student run crew
backstage, running lines etc. Should enjoy working with kids
8-16 or 5-8 and should be a pro-active, confident individual
who is interested in building their teaching repertoire. Specify
which age group interested in.
Build Crew (Boulder
& Denver - Part Time)
Seeking individuals who would like to gain experience in building
sets (set construction, set painting etc.) to assist our set designer.
Must be responsible and reliable and have skills using power tools.
