RMTK Offers $33,000 in Summer Scholarships in 2011

RMTK is proud to announce that this past summer, we were able to support kids in the performing arts with $33,000 in scholarships. These funds went primarily to parents and kids in need and partially to talent-based scholarships. All scholarship monies were funded by RMTK, demonstrating our commitment to make the performing arts available for families in need.

Rocky Mountain Theatre for Kids is seeking middle to high
school actors to perform chorus/ensemble roles in our exciting
adaptation of Phantom of the Opera. Come be a part of the

the following rehearsals and performances: (some flexibility
available) April 1: 4:30-8:30pm, April 3: 1-6pm, April 8:

Area Talent to Teach Teens Master Class & Audition Workshop

In preparation for our March 13 Fame & A
Chorus Line Teens Summer Intensive auditions, Rocky
Mountain Theatre for Teens will hold a Master Class &
Audition Workshop for actors ages 14-22 on Sun, Feb 27 from
11am-3pm with top area local talent:
Jennifer Rincon, Yale MFA in Directing & Head of Acting
at DCPA's National Theatre Conservatory, 1991-2008; Leigh
Cassidy King, master choreographer who worked with the Bob
Fosse and has students currently performing in L.A., Las Vegas,
New York, and Europe; Kristi King, dancer/choreographer who
has partnered and trained with David Hallberg, American Ballet
Theatre Principal Dancer and Brian Friedman, Britney Spears'
choreographer.

of Ten RMTK Coached Actors All Get Callbacks at DSA

We are proud to announce that eight youth conservatory actors
who trained with our acting coaches got call backs at their
Denver School of The Arts auditions. Thanks to our acting
coaches Mollie Mook and Chuck Novatka for all their hard work
and direction for our students. We are awaiting to see how
many of our actors get invited into DSA. We're keeping your
fingers crossed.
RMTK Awards Over $40,000 in Scholarships

In our commitment to make the arts accessible to students
at all income levels, RMTK is proud to announce that it topped
$40,000 in self-funded scholarships for the 2009-2010 term.
We are particularly proud of the fact that we were able to
award these scholarships all on our own and hope to continue
those efforts by further expanding our scholarship base more
than ever in the upcoming 2011 year. We currently have scholarships
available for families earning under $50,000 as well as boys

To Announce Rocky Mountain Theatre for Teens Summer Intensives
December 1, 2010
For the summer of 2011, Rocky Mountain Theatre for Teens is
proud to announce its Summer Performing Arts Intensives. These
programs in Boulder & Denver will occur in the June-July
time frame and will offer master classes as well as performance
opportunities for actors ages 14-22. Top college talent as
well as local teen performers will audition for program admission.
Full to partial scholarships will be available for top performers.
In Boulder, we will perform either "A Chorus Line"
or "Chicago" at the 250 seat Dairy Center for the
Arts Performance Space. Script selection will be based on
the gender and talent of the audition pool. Actors will
have a chance to study with LA based choreographer & dancer
Adrianne Hampton, who was the
first dancer in the United States to debut the Original Choreography
for “Cassie” in “A Chorus Line” from
the Recent Broadway Revival.
In Denver, we are proud to team up with Cherry Creek Dance
to run all rehearsals in their professional dance studios
and will perform either "Fame" or "Chicago"
at the 300 seat Eugenia Rawls Theatre at the Kenneth King

RMTK Youth Rep Students To Attend Colorado Thespian Conference
November 1, 2010
Thirty students from RMTK's Denver and Boulder Senior Youth
Repertory Companies will attend and compete in the Colorado
Thespian Conference on December 9. Students will compete in
individual categories in dramatic acting for duet and group
scenes. RMTK is one of the few and possibly one youth actors
conservatory participating in the event. We will keep you

RMTK Director Shares Stage with
Alec Baldwin

Chuck Novatka, our Denver Senior Youth Repertoy Company director
spent the summer on stage in the New York production of "Equus"
with well-known actor. Equus, a classic in dramatic theatre,
written in 1973 by Peter Shaffer, tells the story of a psychiatrist
who attempts to treat a young man who has a pathological fascination
with horses. When asked about his experience with Baldwin,
Chuck said, "Working with Alec was a great pleasure.
He's very serious about his craft." Chuck spent several
months in New York this past summer working with Baldwin and
other talented New York-based actors. The
New York Times reviewed the show.

Romeo is proud to bring to the Denver-Boulder metro area a
new theatre company and venue Theatre
O. Theatre O seeks to expand the diversity of live theatre
in the Denver-Boulder metro area by producing innovative and
provocative work by some of today's best contemporary playwrights.
The new venue provides an intimate and professional
setting and will be available for use for RMTK students for
rehearsal and productions.

The Mayor attended to support a friend's child who was in

Philanthropy Report

Rocky Mountain Theatre for Kids is proud to have awarded over
$19,000 in scholarships to students and low income families
during 2007 and the first quarter of 2008. All scholarships
were self-funded as RMTK does not receive any public funding.
Furthermore, in 2008 alone, RMTK has contributed to the following
Boulder-Denver organizations: Dreamcatcher Direct Instruction,
Community Montessori Public School, Shining Mountain Waldorf
School, Corey Elementary Public School, The Center for Talented
and Innovated Youth, and many others.

Youth Theatre which reviewed more than 70 youth productions

A Hundred Plus Presents for Native American Youth

Thank you to all students and parents who so generously participated
in our toy drive this past holiday season. The toy drive benefitted
Northern Cheyenne and Pine Ridge Indian Reservations in Montana
and South Dakota. We are grateful for your generosity.

Denver Youth Repertory Company, a troup of talented and committed
student actors. The Denver Rep Company will perform "Miracle

Actresses Maya Ward and Veronica Bird won Best Supporting
Actress Awards as Yente and Chava respectively in RMTK's April
'06 production of "Fiddler On The Roof" through

Youth Theatre. Both actresses flew to San Diego to recieve
their awards. Congratulations to Maya and Veronica!

festival and silent auction. Through a variety of activities,

RMTK Opens New Childrens' Performing
Arts Complex

Rocky Mountain Theatre For Kids, the premier children's performing
arts company, is proud to announce the opening of our new
5300 square foot children's performing arts complex at 5311
Western Avenue, near 55th & Arapahoe. It includes
The Magic Playouse, a 3600 square foot 110 seat theater, an
800 square foot dance studio, and several classrooms.
We opened officially June 1st and are featuring our summer
performing arts camps there, two of which focus on the work-shopping
and rehearsal of a full length musical production, which is
then performed for the public for six consecutive days. This
summer we are performing the "The Chronicles of Narnia"
as well as "Peter Pan: An Original Musical!"
