Parent Online Consent – By applying for a spot in a class, you give parent consent for your child to participate in our online programming.
Kids 10 & Under – Parents, please set up the call for your child 10 & under. For ages 8 & under, parents please show up with your child for the first 10 minutes of class or as needed to help them get set up.
PLEASE NOTE
- Denver and Boulder students may apply for a spot in any class.
- If you do not get a confirmation email prior to class, the class is full.
- Select only one to two classes in your child’s age range.
- DO NOT apply for a spot for:
- More than two classes.
- Classes that happen at the same time.
- A class that your child will not attend for all 4 weeks.

FOR AGES 6-9
Tuesdays 4-5 PM
1. Acting the Song! Taught by Kyle Scholl.
Acting a song is not just about hitting the notes. In this class we will learn how to nail a song, know what we’re singing, why we’re singing it and escalate the importance to a heightened level! How do we FILL UP with that emotion and show it onstage?

Wednesdays 4-5 PM
2. Fun with Audition Prep! Taught by Kyle Scholl.
Whether auditioning for the school play, a play with RMTK summer camp or AAPA, students should feel like they shine! In this class we will discuss audition etiquette and how to feel confident and comfortable without being cocky. It’s our job to be inclusive and encouraging of everyone in the cast. (Not just our friends.) We will talk about what directors are looking for, reiterating that casting is a puzzle and how to make your best first impression! Practicing mock group auditions and how to do your best line readings will also be covered.

3. Pantomime, Clowning & Commedia. Taught by Jake Foster.
This pantomime and clowning course will help students enrich their imagination as they connect to day to day life using storytelling and improvisation. With extreme dedication to imagination as well as touching on the history and movement of Commedia Dell’arte, the student who takes this course will develop a full range of knowledge and skill on mime and movement technique. This is a great PRACTICAL COURSE that will enrich each student’s proficiency in the accuracy and specificity of physical actions and gestures.

Wednesdays 4:30-5:30 PM
4. Accents and Dialects. Taught by Carrie Colton.
In this course students will explore iconic accents spoken all over the world with a specific focus on accents from the UK and Europe. Students will learn skills for efficiently analyzing a new accent and vocally delivering a monologue using both IPA (international Phonetic Alphabet) and by ear training alone! They will have ample opportunity to try out each and every accent with line readings, improv, and a final monologue! This class is appropriate for students of all levels who want to improve their vocal ability and character choices. Come travel the world with us!

5. Voice Over Technique and Character Voices. Taught by Lisa Gaylord.
Students will learn how to creatively and dynamically use their voice to create a diverse repertoire of characters and read material for voice overs and general character work.

Fridays 4-5 PM
6. Vocal Fundamentals/Technique. Taught by McKensey Struzik.
This class is focused primarily on vocal technique, health and anatomy. Students will come out of this class with a better understanding of how the voice works, how to properly warm-up and care for their voice, and how to sing in a way that works for their unique instrument. The class will also cover healthy stage speech such as stage whispers and vocal projection and all students will learn their own personal vocal warm up.

7. All That Jazz: The Dance Stylings of Bob Fosse. Taught by Katie Turner.
Have a blast in this upbeat dance class where we will learn the choreography, music, character choices, and physicality all inspired by Bob Fosse!
(We will use only the age appropriate songs from his shows: “All That Jazz, Rich Man’s Frug, Me and My Baby,” etc.)
NOTE: Class size is unlimited and may be joined by any student ages 9+ (in addition to 1-2 other classes). To join this class, Register Now.

8. Polishing your Audition Technique
Note: registration for this class is for BOTH parts 1 and 2.
Part One: Weeks 1 & 2 Audition Preparation and the Vocal Audition. Taught by McKensey Struzik.
Students will learn things such as marking cuts in their music, finding an appropriate monologue, and what a good headshot and resume consists of.
Part Two: Weeks 3 & 4 Conquering the Dance Audition. Taught by Madeline Shaffer.
This class will help you find confidence in your next dance audition. We will break down the audition process, work on methods to support memorization of dance phrases and strengthen tactics that will help you get noticed, accentuate your strengths, and show off your best self!

Thursdays 4-5 PM
9. Making Dances! Choreography Process and Technique. Taught by Madeline Shaffer.
In this class, students will learn the tools to create their own dance number! We will explore different creative methods and exercises that aid in the process of making unique and dynamic choreography. Each student will culminate the class with their own piece of choreography!

10. Theatrical Design and Puppetry. Taught by Jake Foster.
Note: registration for this class is for BOTH parts 1 and 2.
Part one: Theatrical Design
Are you interested in what technical elements go into a production? Theatrical Design will show students the steps to go from page to stage (thinking theatrically). Focusing on a play we will go through how YOU would design the show! This class will be VERY FUN and interactive!
Part Two: Puppetry
We will earn about the fascinating world of puppetry! In this class, we will explore shadow puppets and sock puppets. Get ready to be creative and make a new puppet each week! Supplies will be needed for this class so come prepared and ready to create!

Wednesdays 6-7 PM
11. Auditioning for Film/Preparing the Video Audition. Taught by Jake Foster.
Auditioning in front of a camera can be nerve wracking but this course will help students transition into a new and vulnerable form of auditioning. We will be going over ways to audition for film and television as well as how to submit a video audition for live theatre.
