” We create the opportunity for students to really own their work by encouraging them to think critically,
make their own creative choices, and use each other as resources for guidance and inspiration.”
-Michelle Romeo, founder and artistic director-
We inspire youth in their creative process while raising their performance standards to achieve theatrical excellence.
Rocky Mountain Theatre For Kids (RMTK) & The Actors Academy for The Performing Arts (AAPA) are one organization with two great divisions: AAPA for the school-year long academy; RMTK for summer camps & classes.

More about Our Mission:
Founded in 1996, we give students, beginner and experienced alike, a professional theater experience as well as an in depth, personal, and holistic perspective on the crafting of theatre. We strive to create an environment where both the creative process and a professional product are emphasized.
Furthermore, by providing our students with a professional performance arena including professional costumes, makeup, sets, lighting, sound, dance, music, and more, we are elevating each student’s personal standards for performance.
Our Actors Academy for The Performing Arts is our school-year long academy program for talented and experienced performers, delivering intensive and specialized training in the performing arts. Focus varies depending on the program but includes voice, dance, character work, scene study, and more. See www.ActorsAcademyCO.com for details.
Theatre is a powerful way
of opening up a young person’s spirit
to the creative process.
During the summers we offer intensive summer programs, two of which focus on the work-shopping and rehearsal of a full length musical production, which is then performed for the public for several consecutive days. We offer daily “major classes” to our students in dance, voice, music, makeup, or technical arts. RMTK offers after-school programs as well as classes and youth rep companies throughout the school year.
