- A pre-requisite for all teaching positions is a B.A. and two years of teaching experience with youth in the specialty (dance, voice, etc.) for which you are applying. This does not apply to internships or production staff positions (lights, sound, sets, etc). Occasionally, we will hire precocious, charismatic, and experienced college students.
- Preference given to local candidates & those considering a permanent move to the Denver/Boulder area, although all candidates may be considered.
Application Process:
- Download questionnaire and complete questionnaire (for teaching positions only).
- For teaching artists (director, music director, choreographer, stage manager, etc) if available, forward in body of your email YouTube links to videos of you teaching and/or shows you’ve worked on. This will give you an advantage over other candidates.
- For production designers (sets, lights, costumes, makeup, etc), send by email photos or links to photos or videos of your work. DO NOT send more than 10mb of photos in one email; it will be rejected.

2019 SUMMER CAMP FACULTY POSITIONS
All positions, unless noted, are full time and require full commitment during period of employment. Ensure you are available for the dates of the camp you are applying for. See summer camp schedules for exact session dates. Pay is dependent on position and experience.

OLDER COMPANY (ages 8-17) POSITIONS
1. Directors (Boulder & Denver)
This position involves a tremendous amount of responsibility and is for someone who has previously directed large cast children’s theatre productions with kids ages 8-16. Managing staff, maintaining positive parent contact, creating and maintaining efficient rehearsal schedules (with stage manager) , group management, strong organizational skills, as well as the commitment to manifest a creative vision and direct production designers are important. Creative process training as well as personal performing arts experience is valuable.
2. Music Directors (Boulder & Denver)
Seeking experienced musical directors with a background in musical theater to arrange and teach vocal parts, provide proper voice technique, and assist students ages 8-16 in creating dynamic and interesting musical pieces. A passion for theater and for kids is essential as well as the enthusiasm to be in a co-creative role with the director. The ability to work well with other members of the artistic staff is crucial, as you will be working intimately with the choreographer and director. Must be comfortable working with large numbers of kids and must have group teaching experience! Piano skills are required! Ideally you’d accompany the show but exceptions may be made.
3. Choreographers (Boulder & Denver)
Seeking trained and skilled choreographers & dance instructors with experience teaching children ages 8-16 musical theatre. This person must co-create and implement simple yet artful choreography and teach it to beginner through advanced students. A passion for theater and for kids is essential as well as the enthusiasm to be in a co-creative role with the director. Experience in any of the following diverse dance genres such as: modern, jazz, ballet, hip-hop, African, folk or Latin would be helpful. Applicant should be comfortable planning a curriculum and teaching dance
classes. Skills in basic acting and character building are helpful.
4. Stage Managers (Boulder & Denver)
Seeking stage managers who are extremely organized and have experience working with kids. The stage manager will do the following: assist director as needed, facilitate rehearsal, maintain production book as resource for actors and designers, create weekly newsletters with director, run or block scenes as needed, work closely with director to achieve a productive rehearsal environment, create rehearsal schedule and scene breakdown from script, track spending and keep production budgets and assist with technical staff.
6. Extended Arts Teacher (Boulder & Denver) – part time
Seeking dynamic and engaging teachers to teach approx 2 hour workshops during the camp day, typically 11:15am-1pm and/or 2-3:45pm. This is a great fit for a performing arts teacher who has the ability to be on his/her toes and deliver engaging workshops to students who are not required during a rehearsal period. Skills in acting, improv, puppetry, stage combat, mask work, and more make for exciting extended arts workshops.
7. Interns (Boulder & Denver)
A great opportunity for a high school or college student to learn more about the teaching and production side of the performing arts. Work would involve running lines with students, basic acting coaching, and helping as needed. Stipends available. Interns needed for all Older Company sessions. OLDER COMPANY PRODUCTION STAFF
1. Set Designers/Builders (Boulder & Denver) – part time
Seeking creative individuals to design and build colorful and versatile sets for our summer shows. Knowing how to work within budget is crucial! This position would involve working with students and parents during Community Build Days as well as planning all aspects of the set build in order to meet strict timelines. Previous set design and build experience is required. If just apply for a set builder experience, list that in the subject of your email.
2. Lighting Designers and Board Operators (Boulder & Denver) – part time
Seeking technically savvy individuals who have experience creating and implementing light design and running an advanced light board for multiple shows. Electrician skills helpful.
3. Sound Designers and Board Operators (Boulder & Denver) – part time
Seeking technically savvy individuals who have experience creating and implementing sound design and running sound for multiple shows. Ability to troubleshoot sound issues is critical.
4. Costumers (Boulder & Denver) – part time
Seeking experienced and highly creative costumers who can handle large scope costume jobs (sometimes up to 80 costumes or more per show) with some volunteers. This position requires significant design and build experience for a highly organized person who can oversee one or more assistant stitchers.
5. Makeup Designer/Artists (Boulder & Denver) – part time
Seeking experienced makeup artists with theatre design experience who can manage and oversee makeup application for 30-50 kids with the assistance of parent volunteers.
6. Props Master/Mistress (Boulder & Denver) – part time
Seeking an artistic skilled person to create and assemble props. Prior experience working on theatre props is required.
YOUNGER COMPANY (ages 5-8) POSITIONS
